Editorial policy

How experience becomes something worth publishing.

Powered Journal’s standards for first-hand experience, source checking, technical review, corrections and responsible AI assistance.

Last updated 4 September 2026

Experience comes first

Articles begin with the questions, decisions and practical detail encountered by Powered Electrical while carrying out electrical work around Bristol and North Somerset. We do not publish generic material merely to occupy a search result.

Sources and technical review

Important regulatory, safety and technical claims are checked against relevant primary guidance wherever practical. Sources are named at the end of each guide, and articles show their publication or review context.

General information cannot account for the condition of an individual property. Where inspection or testing is needed, the article says so.

Responsible use of AI

AI tools may help organise a spoken account, prepare a draft, check structure or identify areas requiring research. They are not the author or technical decision-maker. A person reviews the substance, tone, claims and sources before publication.

Corrections and updates

If we find a meaningful error, we correct it rather than quietly preserving it for appearances. Guidance can change, so articles may be reviewed, updated or retired. Readers can report a possible error by emailing us and identifying the page and passage concerned.

Commercial relationship

Powered Journal is published by Powered Electrical Contractors Ltd and may link to its electrical services. That relationship is stated openly. Editorial content should still explain options proportionately and should not turn every concern into a recommendation for paid work.

Urgent safety

The journal is not an emergency service. Burning smells, smoke, arcing, significant heat, exposed live parts or other immediate danger should not be investigated using an article. Keep clear, isolate the supply only if it is safe to do so, and contact an appropriate emergency service or competent electrician.
